Titanic

2009

10 April 1912.The British ocean liner Titanic sets off from the port of Southampton on its maiden voyage to New York. At 11.40pm on 14 April 1912, it hits an iceberg.

There are insufficient lifeboats for all the passengers. At 2.20am on 15 April 1912, Titanic sinks beneath the icy waters of the Atlantic Ocean, leading more than 1500 people to their deaths. The impossible has happened. The gigantic ship, that its owners, White Star Line, had boasted was “practically unsinkable”, has disappeared in two and a half hours, 400 miles south of Newfoundland.

March 2009. Sixteen performers dive into the story of the legendary Titanic and challenge the boundaries between fiction and reality. They create onstage a mysterious and alluring world, an allegoric place where anything can happen. Innermost fears and secrets are being exposed as we follow their journey full of surprises, unfamiliar images and untold emotions. Live music, movement and narration are the elements of Titanic, a modern electro dance tragedy.
